Michelle Murphy is a Licensed Realtor with Edina Realty, www.myrealtormichelle.com. She has worked as a commercial actor and On Air host at Shop NBC since 1993, prior to Real Estate. She still has the opportunity be a “lifestyle guest” on Shop NBC and talk about one of her favorite passions, Jewelry. Many of her Colleagues from modeling and On Air hosting are part of this Calendar, which is an added joy.
Michelle’s 2 children, Spencer and Shannon Murphy keep her grounded and centered. She works on living life to the fullest, and using her energy towards all the many passions in her life. Michelle puts 100% into everything she does whether she is working or playing.
When I thought of creating this Calendar, I had no idea the gift that I would be given. This inspirational project has been a blessing and truly life changing. I have met some great new people, reconnected with old friends, and realized how important one person’s dream can be to a cause. I am blessed to have so many wonderful people involved in this cause. I thank everyone who has helped make this dream a reality. I can not think of a more valuable cause than working together to raise money to cure Cancer.
The father of my children, my ex-husband, and my friend, has Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia. I have known him since I was 18, and we are have always been very close. When I heard that he was diagnosed with Cancer, I was devastated. I would do anything to help find a cure for his type of cancer. I am devoted to raising awareness and finding funds for research to find a cure for this type of Cancer.
This year alone, I have learned of 3 friends diagnosed with various types of Cancer. We need to find a cure during our lifetime, and I am committed to raising money and donating to research to make that happen. I am also so thrilled that Michele Murphy, my ex husband’s wife and my friend, is also a part of this Calendar!
By purchasing this Calendar, you can raise money for Cancer research. I am dedicated to doing everything that I can to find a cure. If creating a calendar that raises money for research can help someone’s life, then I am going to work as hard as I possibly can to raise as much money as possible.
Now that I am in my 40’s , I am even more dedicated to making time to go the gym, I stay motivated because of how much I value my health. I strive to look on the outside as young as I feel on the inside. Therefore, I do the same thing I did in my 20’s, and 30’s to stay in good health. I eat a healthy diet avoiding processed foods, try to get enough sleep and work out regularly. I love to take hip-hop and ballet classes, play tennis, run, and lift free weights. To be healthy, and to have a centered mind, body and spirit is my main goal. I know that it is imperative that you move your body and watch what you put in your mouth daily. . Through this calendar I hope that people become more aware of this form of cancer, Waldenstrom, and BUY CALENDARS!!
Nancy Sego began her modeling career at 17, and began her cosmetic and beauty advising business in 1982. She put her career on hold in 1989 when the first of her two sons was born. As the boys became independent, she returned to school earning a Bachelors degree in Psychology with a minor in Biology from St. Cloud State University, as well as an associates degree in Dental Assisting. She set a goal of returning to modeling, adopted organic eating, added weight training & pilates to her kick boxing workouts and additional training through Caryn International model and talent. She acheived her goal, and is now an active model in the twin cities. She has a strong faith in God, and encourages women to celebrate being healthy and beautiful at all ages.
Survival stories abound and cancer can be conquered. I have lost family members to cancer, but I was always inspired as to all the fight they had in them, I truly believe it lengthened their lives.
I had a friend who was my neighbor who had breast cancer she was very young, she was 32. First of all, to get breast cancer at this young on an age is extremely rare, almost unheard of. She had two beautiful children ages 6 and 4. She fought breast cancer and ultimately ended up with a double mastectomy. She was doing well and was going to get breast implants, she was very excited about it . She started to get headaches and went back to the doctor. She had a CAT scan and they found out the the tumor had metastasized to the brain, it was inoperable, and she died at age 33.
This is such a heart wrenching and tragic story that I almost don’t like to share it, because it is rare, and I like to see people feel positive about their recovery and being able to be healed. Her brother got custody of her kids and her friends and co workers sent her and her kids to Disney world before she died. Everytime I walk by what used to be her house, I think about her.
Therefore, I recommend all women to get regular screening and the eat right, exercise and hopefully we can reduce the risk of getting cancer in the first place.
Laharika Batchu, an architecture student from Church of South India Institute of Technology (C.S.I. IT) in Andhra Pradesh, India, visited the coaching center on July 7, 2010. She is working on a project to design a modeling institute and wanted to see how our coaching center was set up. She took several photos, measured spaces, and had an extensive interview with Sandy Meyer, Director of Operations, regarding the facility and use of space. Our best wishes go with Laharika as she completes her project and travels home to India.
